چکیده

Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) bark contains marked amounts of polyphenolic compounds. Condensed tannins (CTs) and stilbenes show commercial potential as antioxidants, antimicrobials, preservatives in food cosmetic applications, technochemical products, pharmaceuticals. Storing before the conversion process leads to substantial losses extractives In present study, thermal drying for maintaining content was assessed based on an experiment which samples were dried convection kilns at 40, 50, 60, 70 °C temperatures. The development CTs stilbene contents CT degradation followed 28–34 h. analysed from with thiolysis. Quantities glycosides aglycones water-acetone extracts applying gas chromatography flame-ionization detection (GC-FID). Multilevel regression analysis used analyse statistical differences moisture composition between schemes. initial 35–36 mg g?1 dry material declined 25–31 g-1 average degree polymerisation (DP) decreased slightly, relative proportion prodelphinidins increased significantly 60 A-type linkages slightly increase temperature. mean varied 19 22 mass. Isorhapontin major constituent, a 45–49 % total stilbenes. Stilbene up detected during processes. 10 h, example, 36–43 lost. Degradation activities by enzymes released oxidative reactions after crushing debarking phase concluded be primary mode degradation. results indicate that can preserved moderate temperature not exceeding 50 °C, but may affect their suitability various applications. Sufficient industrial processes is unlikely maintainable through drying. permanence post-drying should practical-scale storage using varying contents.

Conserved Function of Core Clock Proteins in the Gymnosperm Norway Spruce (Picea abies L. Karst)

From studies of the circadian clock in the plant model species Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), a number of important properties and components have emerged. These include the genes CIRCADIAN CLOCK ASSOCIATED 1 (CCA1), GIGANTEA (GI), ZEITLUPE (ZTL) and TIMING OF CAB EXPRESSION 1 (TOC1 also known as PSEUDO-RESPONSE REGULATOR 1 (PRR1)) that via gene expression feedback loops participate in the...

Are Early Somatic Embryos of the Norway Spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) Organised?

BACKGROUND Somatic embryogenesis in conifer species has great potential for the forestry industry. Hence, a number of methods have been developed for their efficient and rapid propagation through somatic embryogenesis. Although information is available regarding the previous process-mediated generation of embryogenic cells to form somatic embryos, there is a dearth of information in the literat...

Retrieval of chlorophyll and nitrogen in Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) using imaging spectroscopy

The research evaluated the information content of spectral reflectance (laboratory and airborne data) for the estimation of needle chlorophyll (CAB) and nitrogen (CN) concentration in Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) needles. To identify reliable predictive models different types of spectral transformations were systematically compared regarding the accuracy of prediction. The results of t...

Patterns of Nucleotide Diversity at Photoperiod Related Genes in Norway Spruce [Picea abies (L.) Karst.]

The ability of plants to track seasonal changes is largely dependent on genes assigned to the photoperiod pathway, and variation in those genes is thereby important for adaptation to local day length conditions. Extensive physiological data in several temperate conifer species suggest that populations are adapted to local light conditions, but data on the genes underlying this adaptation are mo...
